Spring!
Our little yard has had daffodils and tulips in it since before we moved here. Last fall, Joe planted a huge amount of crocus and tulip bulbs, and I was anticipating a yard FULL of flowers.
But I forgot about the squirrels. They must have dug up at least half the bulbs immediately. And they keep watch for newly bloomed flowers– and decapitate them!
I did manage to capture a picture of Lilia and a freshly bloomed tulip today. It may be gone tomorrow. The squirrels are particularly mad at us because we just got a fancy anti-squirrel bird-feeder.

Oh man, how annoying about the squirrels!! I do like squirrels in general, but they do get aggressive in the city. Everything is theirs. Our neighbors behind us lost their dog and started feeding the squirrels. Pretty soon the squirrels were up on their 2nd story porch, eating from their hands. Next thing they know, one of the squirrels got PO’ed about something and BIT their elderly tenant, who then had to be rushed to Penn for painful rabies shots, etc. Long story short, squirrels are cute but they are wild creatures that can inflict a lot of damage..
PS: LOVE the photo of Lil. I remember when you guys had all those tomatoes growing in your front yard!

The squirrels ate most of our bulbs too!!!! $#%*& squirrels! When we lived at Alden Park a squirrel came into our apartment (we left a screenless window open) went into Josh’s school bag and took a ziploc bag of chocolate chip cookies! We caught the squirrel in the act because the bag was too heavy and it couldn’t jump back up on the window sill although it was trying REALLY hard. Josh had to charge the squirrel to get it out of our apartment! Those animals are INSANE!!!

right-click-SAVE! that pic of lilia-susan in your front yard with the tulips is going in my album! hope you guys had a fabulous mother’s day. rory and i went to the discovery museum for a teddybear teaparty. so much fun!
