Saved from a landfill…

I made a big batch of roasted red pepper hummus the other day. I usually love hummus, but this was just okay. Joe really likes it though, and I made him two hummus wraps for a snack at work. Shortly after I waved goodbye to him, I noticed the wraps and an orange still on the table. I figured he wasn’t too far away, and would be very disappointed if he didn’t have them, so I ran around looking for my cell phone (never in the same place), and called him up. He rode back home with a Fisher Price Family Farm in his hand, and alerted me to a jackpot of Fisher Price Little People, just a few houses up, getting soaked by the endless rain while waiting for the garbage truck to come along and eat it. We brought it home, and I cleaned it all up. Can you believe this was all going to go to a landfill???

Wow. What a score! I’m so glad you guys rescued the stuff. I had the farm when I was growing up. I bet my mom still has it at home. I’m going to have to ask her.

Cool– Ruby will love it! Or actually, you and C might like it more, and then she can play with it when you are done!

WOW! SCORE! I miss my Fisher Price toys – they were darn near indestructible. Does the barn door still Moo when you open it?

The best FP toys were the castle with the little trapdoor/dungeon and secret hiding place behind the stairs, and also the village, with the little mail truck with the little plastic letters.

They don’t make stuff like they used to, more’s the pity…
